How to set up a website at Western Iowa Networks.
Create your web page using an HTML editor such as Microsoft Front Page or Macromedia DreamWeaver. Netscape provides a simple web page composer free with Netscape Navigator. Save your main page as index.html
Open Internet Explorer and type ftp://westianet.net in the address bar, or if you have IE7 type ftp://username@westianet.net, where username is the first part of your email address. You will be prompted for your username and password. You will see a folder called web, put your website files in that folder.
You can see if it is working by going to your default website which is
http://www.westianet.net/~username
Where username is the first part of your email address.
We do have a MySQL version 4.0.14 database server installed with a graphical user interface. If you would like a username and database set up for your website send an email to support@westianet.net
PHP with MySQL support is installed.
